[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Speaker recommendation

Want to upgrade the Speakers on one of my bedroom rigs.
This gets very regular use with our TV and occasional use for SB.
Currently using a pair of Wharfedale Modus Cubes. Although a massive
upgrade on the TVs inbuilt speakers they could do with some more bass. A
sub is not an option.
The speakers need to be small & magnetically shielded. Budget up to
£100. Will consider second hand. UK
Currently driven by a Topping Class D amp but this may also be upgraded
at some point.
Recommendations anyone?

Really depends on taste. Richer Sounds is a great place to spend a
moderate amount of money on decent hifi though.

Personally I would take half that cash and buy some old square Mission
780s.

I would look for some used/older Tannoy bookshelf speakers in good nick
on eBay.... lots of pairs for <£100, that I am sure sound good.

Thanks all.
I keep thinking I should pop in to Richer Sounds but I fear I will part
with cash come what may if I do!
Mission's may be a bit too big for where I need to site them
unfortunately. I will have a look at S/H Tannoy's.

The 780s were pretty small. But for bass response you will always be
restricted if you can't accommodate something physically larger. Unless
you get something with an active amp built in. A B&W zeppelin type
thing.
