[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Overheating Logitech Transporter

I've owned this Transporter since it was new (no TransNav knob), and
it's performed flawlessly over the years.
One problem has come up very recently - it is suddenly running hot -
there is a -significant- increase in the amount of heat that you can
feel when touching the case.

Here's what I can say for sure:
It runs hot when powered off - it does not need to be- in actual use- to
overheat.
There have been no changes in its location (sitting atop a rack, open to
air circulation), or its connection for power, signal output, or
ethernet.
After opening the case, the two blue transformers appear to be the
hottest components within (see photo).
There are no signs of swollen capacitors, or loosened connections, or
the like.
There is no odor coming from the unit.
When re-connected to the system, it plays perfectly.

I'd appreciate any practical advice, including where it might be sent
for expert repair, if possible.
Thanks!

What's connected to it? In detail.
XLR audio connection to McIntosh integrated amplifer.
Ethernet cable from Cisco router.
Original-equipment AC cord connection to wall outlet.

Nothing has been moved/changed; other than the significant increase in
heat, the Transporter operates perfectly.

In my experience when items start getting hot for no reason it's leaking
current to a faulty grounded device.
Unplug the cables and see if it still gets so hot. (Uhhh apart from the
power one of course!)

Yes, I've observed the Transporter sitting at idle, with no network or
audio cables attached, and it still heats up.

My next move will be to connect it to an outlet in a different part of
the house, and see what happens then.

Yeah, and stick it on a power meter if you have one. If nothing else
it'll tell you the power leak rate.

Most Transporter issues seem to stem from faulty PSU's. Perhaps some
sort of voltage leak is occurring. If that turns out to be your issue,
you can purchase a replacement here...

Maybe capacitors going bad, in turn making the regulators run hot... did
you try running it open, hover your hand around for the components that
are running hot?

Or maybe the wifi module, reseat / remove that as a test.

Also the front panel mini power supply fails (little circuit board on
it's own).

Haven't heard of that one. I know when the PSU starts to fail it can
cause the display to go out.

I've had my hands all over the components - other than the little
toroidal transformers and the aluminum case, nothing was especially
hot.

I think you & Fizbin might be right about the little 5 volt supply for
the display.
I'm going to order one of the replacements from his UK link, and remove
the original supply.
I have to say, the quality of this board is not on par with the rest of
the Transporter; it looks like it came from a cheap toy.

And just because it doesn't hurt to ask, does anyone have access to a
schematic for the Transporter?

Is the PSU for the display only? Are sckramer and I talking about the
same component? I wasn't aware that PSU was solely for the display.
Most units that have that failing PSU eventually stop working all
together.
