[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Volume issues with new Transporter (quiet or distorted - pick one!)

I just purchased a new Transporter and I have to crank the volume on my
amp to hear anything - it's very quite. If I turn the volume up on the
Transporter past 50%, it gets choppy and distorted.

Any ideas?

Current setup:
- Analog outputs into a Cambridge Audio SR10
- Transporter firmware version 87


I have an SBT that plays through the same amp, using the same cables
without issue.

Hmmm unusual. First I'd try a Xilinx reset. Remove power, point remote
at transporter pressing the 1 key, and restore power at same time. You
can quit pressing the 1 key when you see info about Xilinx on the
transporter screen.

Also, is the transporter used? I recall that there are some settings
that relate to connecting direct to an amp with no preamp, but I've
never used them. Is the Cambridge only an amp?

Did you test the same input , not only the same cable ? For example
don't use the phono input it only works for pickups not line level
sources .

I have an SBT that plays through the same amp, using the same cables
without issue.

Transporter has attenuation links inside that can be set from 0dB to
30dB in 10dB steps, you should check these.
