I think I have to question your use of the word "understand". I think
you failed the Turing Test.

Well, I failed the test. Did you listen to 7.8.0?

Yes. I could hear the hard disk rotating, but it sounded pretty much the
same as with 7.7.

Thanks for moving the thread to where it is more appropriate (albeit
deleting it might have been even better).

Try some jazz or any other uncompressed music.

Not dead yet ?

could we be enligthened about if any part off the code that involves
actual streaming of Audio have been changed in any significant way the
last five years :) a lot of bugfixes yes but i bet that the part of
actually getting audio to he buffer has been the same for a very long
time .

Another troll sign . The one and only developer we have . Explained
what he's done re audio ( nothing ) op ignores that .

It's a real pity bit it was inevitable that as streamed audio gained
mainstream acceptance the audiophool community and the industry they
sustain would quickly jump on it and now we have audiophile OS tweaks,
USB cables, PCs, RAM PSUs, SSD, playback software etc. To make matters
worse they've invaded the mainstream of audio discussion forums rather
than form their own forum where all the delusional audiophiles in the
world with hearing acuity far in excess of mere mortals can sit and
share the merits of their delusion.

He he , yea the straming part of the code has probably gone without
changes for years on end .

And the fact that squeezebox streaming is designed to be server/network
agnostic .

There is no mechanism present that actualy could change the sound :) but
thats logic it doee not apply here.....

You could show deadushka
(дедушка?) svn/git logs
showing that nothing has changed and they'd still believe there was a
difference.

I'm convinced that 7.8 was programmed using only specially-harvested
electrons that were bombarded with slightly greasy solar atoms.

7.8 to me has a wider soundstage ,with a fuller richer sound

My Pylepro amp and Radio Shack speakers are certainly benefitting from
the better
Sound . So are my Beats headphones .

I appreciate the appropriate use of the word "appears".

My golden ears can hear a difference! If you look at my fine equipment
posted ,I find 7.8
more resolving .

I am excited enough about this new server software that I no longer have
to drink my Metamucil.

That is because you haven't yet hear how good it sounds when compiled
with the --audiphile option. Day and night difference, and so many veils
removed that it turns R-18...
