[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] MEASURMENTS: Speaker Cables - Canare, Kimber, and the "Frankenstein"

Ladies and gents.

I give you measurements with speaker cables. I trust this time folks
cannot complain that I did not at least try an audiophile-approved set
of wires :-). As usual, I suggest that any "believer" show me some data
to indicate that reasonable speaker cables make a difference beyond
"testimony".

I think I'm pretty well done with the "multi-logy" of wire assessments.
Let's just say there's obviously a lot of BS and hype out there!

Have a great week ahead folks...

Well done! You do realize that one day there will be a bunch of
"industry representatives" at your door, joined by huge crowds of
audiophiles with torches and pitchforks...

Don't worry. Although they will have your name, address and a photo,
that's empirical evidence which they won't believe. Eventually, one of
them will point to a fire hydrant and say "I think that's him!" where
upon they will string that poor hapless hydrant up and tar and feather
it. :D

ROTFL! You do have a point - and the likelihood that their ouija board
will lead them to the right address is pretty low.

The best thing with this measurment is that it's really done "in situ"
you can clearly see that virtually nothing about the sound changes in
the listening position .

Some crackpot would still come with the argument that the measurment
signal is not "music" (fourier anyone ) .
Then just use a whole song and use audiodiffmaker . such a measurment
will probably fail due to changes in the ambient noise between sessions
would drown any of the super tiny diffrences that may be there (
slightly more traffic , fridge starts up 3 rooms away )

Wow Archimago, yet another great blog post with lots of sand being
kicked into various faces in the audiophile world. However what really
impresses me is your choice of audio equipment, which for the most part
appears to be from manufacturers whose main focus is producing well
made, superbly engineered, "audiophile" grade equipment without the
"audiophile" price tag.

By the way I don't think that any audiophile vigilantes will come
knocking at your door any time soon. What's more likely is that you and
your wonderful blog will be ignored (as is the case at the moment)
followed by some attempts to co-opt you and your blog and finally if
co-opting you fails (which I hope it does) then a full on effort to
slander and discredit you will follow. In other words, Michael Fremer
will NOT be coming to your house to hang out, listen to music and shoot
the breeze. So please keep fighting the good fight.
