Hello All

I recently update my version of Windows on my music server from 1803 to
1809 (insider previes) and experienced a HUGE increasement in sound
quality

The Sound became improved in every way smooth highs more transparence
tight bass large soundstage

So i dumped my Windows install and decided to share it
apps removed and some services disbled LMS preinstalled


its in french but is possible to change language, i tried but some
qualities gone!

If you update Windows and experienced something new that has anything to
do with a Device.
Most of that time its just another driver.

Insteea of sharing your ISO - legal or not is another thing - you just
have to share your audiodevice details.

every os sounds different and i have no clue why!

This being a Squeezebox forum I assume you are running LMS on your
Windows server and streaming to Squeezebox clients. That said, any
difference you hear in sound quality after an OS update is imaginary.

It falls into the same category as "WAV vs. FLAC" or decoding FLAC on
the server vs. at the client. No one has ever demonstrated it makes any
auditory difference.

If you hear something new, then your prior configuration was faulty --
not likely -- or you are under the sway of "expectation bias". The
latter is completely understandable. A Windows upgrade can be a long and
stressful experience. And I'm sure the new version looks very nice.

In any case, I'm glad your system sounds better to you. Have you tried
audiophile Ethernet cables or a data "reclocker"? People of similar mind
often attribute these with the same magical effect.

LMS sends data to the Transporter under 1809 as it did under 1803.
Please don't waste time with thinking about it.
The long time alone between doing the update lets you forget every
possible difference and can only be imaginary.

Obviously in mid-fi equipement you will not hear any difference!
i suggest you to read about jitter (this can affect digital cables as
well)

Dismissing my equipment, ears, and intelligence. The first refuge of an
audiophile "believer". I guess I asked for it, though. Good luck in your

i posted this versions cause its sounds so natural for the digital
world
I tried almost every OS and compare them all (hated daphile and
Raspberry crap)

Woah i just used his iso and what should i say!

i've printed some picture from me and me had less wrinkles than my
mirror image.
And that has nothing to do that the picture i was using is a bit older.

Now i tested it with a picture from my wife and the same.
But - as he stated - you cant see any difference in the mid range - even
her face is smoother - her boobs looks the same.

Then i used a mirrored image from me and printed it upsidedown - I can
walk again !!!
Now i printed some cheap water and it voila it smells like wine !!!

The Pictire of my Amp has now 11 settings instead of 20?
