Sorry, the link is in German but maybe Google Translate can reveal all
the marvel of this product to English speakers, too.

It's a USB stick that improves the sound quality of your CD recordings
when you copy them. Just plug it into a USB port on your computer and
then copy the CD to your harddrive and burn a new CD from it. The sound
will gain more power, clarity and detail and the sound stage improves!

People who tested it on their booth were generally overwhelmed!

No drivers required, I assume....

What's best is: the thing in the picture is just a standard Kingston
16GB USB stick for 7.50 quid or so.
They didn't even take the effort to re-brand it....

So this is the real bargain....

Yes, nice profit margin (goes back to the discussion about profit
margins in the high-end industry).

I guess it does prove something - about German consumer protection /
truth in advertising laws (or, rather, lack of them).

It is still a bargain. Imagine how much effort it took to find the best
sounding stick! At CA USB stick sound is common knowledge.

Well, yes, at CA it is also common knowledge that living organisms are
too complex to have evolved naturally, and that the pyramids were built
by space aliens. :)

When i zapp thru my pay-tv and stumble across Ancient Aliens, Oak
Island, Lost Giants and similar "Scientific" waste i wonder if
audiophiles loose lots of sleep about all these theories presented
there.

i think my little system is rationally put together as a current music
shrine. that said i set up a system at my girlfriend's house that was
less than 10% my system's cost, and once i was done i was "damn. this
sounds sweet." but we always knew about diminishing returns. it has
always been about how much those were worth to you.

as to the perceived snake oil... hey it happens everywhere. let people
make irrational, passionate choices and enjoy them. 99% of people that
buy an Akrapovic exhaust or Remus exhaust won't get an ounce of everyday
driving benefit out of it. or anyone that buys a Bugatti Veyron. Or a
Lange datograph instead of a swatch. who cares. why does the audio
community care about what people's choices are? i seldom see B&W
Nautilus owners bragging their stuff kicks everything else into
oblivion, but i see Polk owners telling them the Nautilus can't be any
better if they blind test it etc.

audio is weird. we are utter nerds to the masses, and yet we bicker
about a shared passion like there's absolutely no common ground... :-D

Why ? I for once dislike all pseudosience it is not harmless , it
actually does great harm to society if you look closer .

In Audio it has shrunk our hobby to a small bunch of nutters reading TAS
.

The tech is at least 30 years behind pro audio , we should all had
active speakers in the 70's... Etc

In best cases some gear is about 10 times more expensive than they have
to be . Some underperform greatly due to cargo cult design , they have
simply done it wrong in the design phase :) changing capacitors by ear
or something....

Thie current believe system permeates the design of home hifi and give
us to bad and to expensive products .

Cars and all are about look and feel too and watches too :) but the buff
mags for those would report if all 4 wheels did not touch the ground .
Not in stereophile where you can see especially in the ads products that
can only be feed straight to recycling .

In fact I think next time I buy new hifi I will get some pro audio gear
.
There is ofcourse an audiophile myth about how bad that sounds ;) .
The only downside is that such stuf usually is fuggly as heck .

Indeed. OK, it is not quite as bad as the homeopathic cancer cures, but
our society doesn't need even more of the "science is just an opinion,
it is what *you* feel that is important" BS.

Fortunately I like the industrial "form follows function" look :)
