So this is for sale on ebay and I wanted to ask you experts if you
thought this is worth the price? I talked to the store manager the
other day...

thanks for your opinions.

I would pair this with a joleda III tube dac and a vintage Marantz 2270
with boston acoustics VR920's speakers

cheaper seperately. The power unit goes for $150 from other retailers,

Do they provide any sort of evidence that the modifications actually
improve the sound?

Given that your going to use the digital out to the equipment you
describe .

There is no more reasonably priced squeezebox on eBay ? Do you already
have a squeezebox ?

I know their going scarce and some used units is going for rather
obnoxious prices .

Check with the DIY crowd for a more fun solution , there are a lot of
alternative players going on on this forum .

That sounds a bit like "it is better because it is better" :)

I have heard the power supply (or at least a similar Boulder supply)
paired with a SB3 a number of years back before a friend sold it off.

I could never tell a difference but of course the SB3's analogue out is
not as good as the Touch.

As a digital source, it would not make sense to me how this could impact
quality of the digital stream out of the Touch.

That's a really good point because it's the DAC that's doing the analog
conversion....
