[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Does the Transporter get over burdened with 24/96 files?

I don't own one, but I may get one in the near future. I was reading
some older threads where some have stated that they hear clicks or pops
with certain 24/96 files. I believe the 'fix' was to use compression
level 5, although some also stated that turning down the display
brightness helped, which I find odd.

Anyway, I'm just curious if this is still the case with the latest
firmware.

I have been using a Transporter for close to ten years and I have plenty
of 24/96 and 24/88.2 files which I regularly play using the Transporter.
Since my Transporter is connected via Wi-Fi about the only issue I ever
encounter when playing 24/88.2 or 24/96 files is the occasional
sputtering and rebuffering caused by network issues. I have never heard
any pops and clicks when playing 24/88.2 or 24/96 files.

I have a number of 24/96 albums and they cause zero issues with the
Transporter. I think you are referring to an issue from several years
ago that also related to the fact that the FLAC files were maximum
compression (-8). This did cause some hickups. However, this was fixed
long ago with a firmware update. And wasn't even a problem to begin with
for those using FLAC files not at max compression (for example, my FLAC
files are all "5" compression and I never had the issue. Bottom line:
not a problem.

As the other said, no issues.

Never had a problem with FLAC -8. And these days run it with digital
room correction off a basic AMD A10 APU server through BruteFIR DRC off
a Linux virtual machine in Windows Server 2012.

Measurements also look good with no evidence of excess noise at the
higher sample rates either.

OK, thanks folks! Seems like an issue that was buried long ago.
