I find it reprehensible that Sony would perpetuate this FUD:

I second that. They state that even MP3 files will be up sampled to DSD
resolution retrieving any details missing in former format. Putting
aside marketing and greed I would say this is nothing new. Slimdevices
came with that idea ages ago introducing Transporter and I am only
surprised that it took so long for others comprehend the value of such
devices. If Slimdevices or Logitech later had continued development and
overall trend, it would have been a great success and many followers
(us) would be happier than ever. I suspect they would end up in holding
a big chunk of the market, similarly to Apple OSX computers now. Let it
be a no surprise to you when Apple next comes with some nice streamers
:-)
