I enjoyed this article, which manages to take a swipe at Apple, Beats
and Neil Young all in one go.

Did anybody see Neil Young on Jimmy Fallon last knight? Maybe Neil will
re-release all his music after it's been run through the
"Voice-O-Graph". I'm sure his new album will be extra hires being
recorded in this box.

I think John Watkinson should be the patron saint of the
(anti-)audiophiles section of this forum.

With statements like this:

"Even worse is that in the hi-fi world, that vacuum is filled by
pseudoscience, dogma and fruitloopery to the extent that it resembles a
fundamentalist religion. And when fundamentalism gains a hold, science
leaves on the next boat – and progress ceases."

Watkinson clearly shows that he fits in perfectly with the most of us on
this forum.

Thanks for link.

Awesome article. "Fruitloopery" indeed, LOL!
Edit: Check out the "'_Quantum_Fruitloopery_'
(http://quantumfruitloopery.com/)" page.
The Quantum Fruitloopery page looks promising but alas it appears to be
sorely in need of additional content. I'm making a quantum leap and
guessing that the page's owner is not familiar with high end audio since
if he/she was then the page/site would be bursting with content.

Now if I could only locate my quantum flux capacitor which become
misplaced due a quantum space-time discontinuity brought on by the
recent nova eclipse in the Omega galaxy. It's really quite a shame since
the quantum flux capacitor clearly showed just how much the sound of any
streamed audio is improved when the molecules in the room's air are
properly aligned using the quantum air filtration/molecule alignment
generator. Oh well I guess people will just have to take my word for the
vast improvements this amazing breakthrough device produces. Remember
that my word is which is based on extensive quantum listening tests.

I enjoyed this article, which manages to take a swipe at Apple, Beats

Certainly a fun read, and in the main generally accurate.

But then he went and destroyed his credibility by dismissing 320kbps MP3
as audibly inadequate. And to make matters worse, in the very next
paragraph he (correctly) points out that there is not a shred of
evidence that hi-res sounds any better than 16/44 PCM, seemingly
oblivious to the fact that there is not a shred of evidence that 16/44
sounds any better than competently-encoded 320kbps MP3 on normal music
material.
