Hi guys,
i know this is not really an audiophile question but I need help in
regard with the screws used in the Transporter.
My machine is missing three at the bottom and I would like to replace
them.
16559
Unfortunately I donŽt have any idea about the parameters of those
screws, since they are made to the US standard (inch).
Maybe somebody knows the exact size and even where to buy them.
They dont need to be Allen key, normal heads will do.
Thanks!

Cheers
Kai

Make sure you get audiophile screws. Normal hardware store screws will
ruin your (insert usual audiophile junk here).

But on a serious note, remove one of the remaining screws and take it
with your to a good hardware store or an electronics store. The people
there should be able to help you.

Hi Mike,
unfortunately I live in Germany and we use metric screws.
The screws in the Transporter are made according to the imperial
system.
Therefore I would have to buy them via the internet, but before I can do
that I would need to know the exact size.

Cheers

Try contacting Support and asking them. They should be able to tell you,
even for an out-of-production product. They may even be able to send you
the replacements.

Thanks for the advice, I should have thought about that option myself.

Why not just pull the one screw that you do have and have someone size
it a hardware store? Even if you can't buy it there, they must be able
to tell you what it is.

Yes and a decent hardware store in a fairly big city should have even
"imperial" nuts bolts and screws . Or at least they can order it for you
.

And while there, buy hex tools in inch !

Aah standards they are so good that everone has one :) ( I get that a
lot from my customers "thats our standard ...." )

Hi guys,
guess what?
I bought hex tools in inch and none of them fit since it seems to be
some odd size in between.
A friend of mine told me that a Torx 7 would fit and it does.
The hardware stores here in Germany donŽt have them and they are not
able to order them either.
So either the support will help me or IŽll have to live with the empty
holes.

Cheers
Kai

They are the screws which pop up directly when the link opens up and it
is the size UNC 4-40.
In German they are called Senkkopf-Schrauben mit Innensechskant, ähnlich
DIN 7991, Edelstahl A2
which means Allen-Key, similar to DIN 7991 (industrial standard size),
stainless steel.
